Sometimes, I can be a little judgy. (First, if I'm honest, in what could be a REALLY long series.)
In the last year or so, I've become obsessed with politics. I read about it, listen to blogs about it, and watch cable news incessantly. And there are a few expressions that I've heard over and over that I could live without...
It's the hot topic in our house!
People who work in video games are a pretty calm, polite bunch. It’s a respectful workplace. There’s no screaming, which I like. If I wanted to be screamed at, I would have gotten into construction, or retail. But my hands are too soft, and my feelings too easily hurt.
But there is one thing that can make the blood of even the most docile character artist boil. Something that can turn a software engineer...into an ANIMAL:
The Double Booked Meeting Room.
The normally serene production manager can turn instantly into a snarling beast, ready to kill to defend what is rightfully his.
The male enters the meeting room, stopping to sniff the air and take stock.
He settles in, preparing for his the arrival of his flock.
Once assembled, the male takes his place as the alpha.
Suddenly, interlopers appear!
Tempers flare! Spittle flies! The two alphas square off, in a fierce battle of wills, as their underlings mutter passive aggressive support from a safe distance.
Blood is spilled! Actually, just coffee. But STILL!!
Finally, the alpha triumphs and the intruders are banished!
He lets forth a mighty howl, letting his underlings know that he has won as he waits for the projector to warm up.
